My Approach

The nature of my work is holistic, meaning I recognize we have many bodies that make up who we are -including our physical, mental, emotional, and energetic bodies. We are also the relational connection to our larger social, cultural, ancestral, and spiritual bodies too. It is through this lens that I hold space and offer treatment.

I believe our well-being is a reflection of the intersections between our bodies and the culture that infuses and surrounds us.  At a time of cultural and ecological crisis, I can see that many of us are grieving the waning connection to ourselves, each other, and the land we call home.  It's helpful to acknowledge that our suffering can be much more than the individual and it is necessary to have approaches to healing that reflect this.

In my practice, I advocate for our innate individual and collective capacity for healing and I see my role as a facilitator to support the healing of my patients.  I value that each patient is an expert of their own experience, body, and needs and I strive to compassionately hold a non-judgemental space, and work together with my patients to:

  • build upon the body’s inherent wisdom and capacity to heal

  • regulate and restore the nervous system

  • cultivate trust and safety within the body and oneself

  • heal chronic stress and trauma

  • create possibilities to grow into right relationship with oneself, others, and the land.

In addition to my foundational training in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture,  I also offer somatic approaches to treatment which focuses on regulating the nervous system and increasing one’s tolerance for discomfort within the body, allowing liberation from trauma, stress, anxiety, and other symptoms from overwhelm and various forms of oppression.

I have received training in the following:

  • Alaine Duncan’s Tao of Trauma year long program:  Somatic Practice for treating Trauma Survivors

  • Kiiko Matsumoto Japanese Style acupuncture

  • Dr. Tan and balance method needling

  • Kruger Omni Healing

My practice has been + continues to be shaped and informed by:

  • Ancestral Healing, which emphasizes learning to relate directly with one’s recent and more ancient blood ancestors for personal, family, and cultural healing.

  • And more generally by grief theory, healing justice, cultural somatics, interpersonal neurobiology, Polyvagal theory, animist values, and intuitive healing

Bringing my background of experience as well as my passion for how the political, social, and cultural intersect our bodies and impact our well-being, together we facilitate unique and effective healing.
